Measurements and counting

For the last 12 months, I've been pushing and challenging myself as a practitioner of theatre - and now, one year later and in the limbo between finishing and graduating, I feel full of transferable skills for the industry (either that or I'm a little bloated, one or the other).

I've worked with people who drive me both good and bad crazy, met people who have inspired me to keep creating and digging, worked with people who bring out the best in me, worked out just how long I can go without sleep and scared myself a little more often than I'd like to remember.

I've rediscovered my love for movement, found my balance between performing and directing, as well as tapping back into my root interest in psychology drawing on neuroscience and even philosophy for my final project.

But three bags of flour, twelve balls of string, seven huge boxes of chalk, three essays, two festivals, two months of yoga, one singularity, twenty five XLRs and one very clean contact mic later, I've received a Distinction for my MA in Advanced Theatre Practice.

In all honesty though, there are a huge number of ways to measure the last year - but there are some extraordinary opportunities and people I will never forget and I think that's what I'm most grateful for.

In less lyrical but equally exciting news:
As well as steering the ship of Indomitable with the creative and talented Guy Withers, I've also recently joined ATP formed company BARK as their creative producer and fundraiser. I am excited to begin officially working with this incredible group of women, instead of just standing on the side and fan-girling as I have for the aforementioned year.

I'm also directing Jonathan Woolgar's Scenes from the End, the one woman opera performed and devised with Heloise Werner (showing at ... 1st Feb). Volunteering with Turtle Key Song as I develop Indomitable's upcoming outreach project with people affected by Dementia. Newly appointed part time administrator for The Puppet Centre Trust and as always, on the end of the phone line for Imagine Theatre.
